Vol. IV · Issue 04 · April 2026 · the business edition
a brief for hr, brand, and developer teams

Gift your team like you mean it.

Gish, for businesses, is a coordination layer for the things companies have always done badly — birthdays, work anniversaries, life events, holiday gifts, brand storefronts, sponsored moments, and the API plumbing underneath all of it. Worldwide from day 1, used by an NYC ad-tech firm, an SF SaaS startup, an Atlanta tech co. — trusted by the names you'd recognise.

a note from the editor

Most companies treat gifting like a line item — an annual budget, a vendor, a spreadsheet, a forgotten birthday. We think it's an instrument. Used well, gifting is the cheapest, warmest, most human form of recognition a workplace has. Used badly, it's a $50 Amazon gift card the day after.

What follows is a working brief on Gish for businesses — nine chapters, organised by who you are. Skip to the one that fits. Talk to sales when you're ready.

ICHAPTER ONE
for hr & people teams

Corporate gifting, finally on a calendar.

Auto-gift birthdays, work anniversaries, baby showers, weddings, get-wells, condolences. One dashboard. One budget line. One manager-approved vendor list.

The Business tier is $99/month base + $5/employee/month. It includes the manager dashboard, automatic event detection (birthdays from HRIS, work anniversaries from your start dates), a curated vendor catalog, per-event budget caps, and recipient-side wishlist matching when employees opt in.

Managers approve the budget once per quarter. Gish handles the rest — the gift goes out, the card writes itself (with optional human edit), the receipt PDFs back into your accounting system. Everyone gets the right thing.

  • Auto-detect birthdays, work anniversaries, weddings, parental leave returns, retirements
  • Per-event caps set by HR, override-able by direct managers
  • Recipient match — if the employee has a personal Gish wishlist, we pull from it
  • Manager dashboard — upcoming events, budget remaining, send history
  • Card writing — handwritten-style cards via Greetabl & Postable partnerships, or your own copy
  • Receipt PDFs — ledger-ready, push to QuickBooks / NetSuite / Xero

HR integration.

Workday, BambooHR, Gusto, Rippling, ADP, Paychex, Justworks. Two-way sync, hourly. Birthdays and start dates flow in, gift events flow back as expense entries.

The integration is read-mostly. We pull employee directory, birthdays (where you store them), employment dates, manager hierarchy, location, and termination dates. We never pull compensation, performance reviews, or any field outside the gifting use case.

On the way back: gift events become expense entries on your behalf, mapped to the cost center of the recipient's department. Receipts attach automatically. Audit trail preserved.

  • Workday — official partner, listed in Workday Marketplace
  • BambooHR — native integration, OAuth setup in 4 minutes
  • Gusto — native integration, includes contractor support
  • Rippling, ADP, Paychex, Justworks — SCIM 2.0 + custom fields
  • Direct CSV upload — for the holdouts
  • Off-cycle event triggers — promotion, baby, marriage, condolence (manual)

The Gish API.

43 REST endpoints. SDKs in Node, Python, Go. 33 webhook events. Sandbox identical to production. Rate-limited, well-documented, versioned.

The API surfaces the entire Gish object model — wishes, occasions, contributions, gifts, friends, businesses, brands, payees, receipts. Every action a user can take in the app, you can take via the API. Every action in the API fires a webhook.

  • 43 REST endpoints across 11 resources
  • SDKs@gish/node, gish-python, github.com/gish-co/gish-go
  • 33 webhook events — wish.created, gift.contributed, occasion.upcoming, payee.verified, etc.
  • Sandbox — sandbox.gishme.com, identical schema, free, no rate limits for reads
  • Rate limits — 1000/min default, 10k/min on Enterprise, burst-friendly
  • Auth — Bearer tokens, OAuth 2.0 for delegated access, OIDC for SSO-bound calls
  • Versioning — date-pinned (2026-04-25 is current); minimum 12 months of back-compat

  • Editorial inclusion — eligible for our Volume features (Mother's Day Vol. I, etc.)
  • Wishlist analytics — see how often you're saved, by whom, when bought

Retailer partnerships.

Two-way sync, real-time inventory, transparent commission. Currently live with ten retailers, including the names below.

When a wish on Gish links to your storefront, we resolve to your real-time inventory, your real-time price, your real-time shipping promise. When a Gish user buys through us, we send the order via your fulfillment of choice. Commissions are per-program, per-category, never opaque.

The integration takes a sprint. Two engineers, ten days. A reference implementation lives at github.com/gish-co/retailer-reference.

Data products.

Brand panel access, anonymised and aggregated. Twelve standing reports a year. Custom extractions on request. Privacy-preserving by design.

If you sell into the gift economy, Gish is one of the most honest signals you'll find — what people want, by occasion, by region, by demographic, in their own words. The Brand Panel surfaces this without ever leaking individual identity.

  • 12 standing reports — Mother's Day Demand Index, Holiday Top-of-List, Bridal Registry Trends, Outcome-Fund Categories, etc.
  • Aggregation floor — no insight is published with fewer than 1,000 wishes
  • Custom extractions — pricing on request, 6-week typical turnaround
  • Privacy-preserving — k-anonymity ≥ 50, differential privacy on numeric fields

IXCHAPTER NINE
for marketing, brand & people teams

Swag & promo, done properly.

Branded merchandise, conference giveaways, new-hire welcome kits, customer appreciation, event signage. Designed and fulfilled by Inkgility — the print and promo partner inside the Loconomy stack.

Most swag is bad swag. A logo on a flimsy mug, ordered the week of the event, shipped from a warehouse no one's ever seen. Recipients throw it out before they get home.

Inkgility runs the same playbook for promo merchandise that it runs for occasion print: good materials, real design taste, and one workflow. Pick a category, drop your logo (or let the Inkgility design team draft three options), set quantities, ship to one address or to many. Your Gish dashboard tracks orders, reorders, and per-recipient delivery — same place you track corporate gifts.

  • Apparel — tees, hoodies, caps, jackets, polos · screen-print, embroidery, DTG · sustainable blanks where stock allows (Allmade, Stanley/Stella, Continental)
  • Drinkware — Miir, Klean Kanteen, Yeti, Hydro Flask · powder-coat, laser-etch, full-wrap
  • Bags & carry — totes, weekenders, backpacks · cotton, recycled poly, leather
  • Stationery — notebooks, pens, planners · Moleskine, Leuchtturm, Field Notes, Blackwing
  • Tech — power banks, AirTag covers, cable kits, audio · vetted brands only
  • New-hire kits — curated 4–8 piece welcome boxes, packed and mailed to home address
  • Event signage — banners, table cloths, lanyards, booth backdrops · ships in 5 business days for US events

Pricing is open: each item shows blank cost · imprint cost · shipping upfront, with quantity-tier breaks (12, 24, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000+). No "call for quote" theater.

  • Design service — Inkgility's in-house team drafts 3 mockups per item, free above 50 units, $250 flat below
  • Recipient-direct fulfillment — upload a CSV of names + addresses, Inkgility ships individually with a personalized note card
  • Reorder triggers — auto-reorder when inventory hits a threshold you set (for office swag closets)
  • Sustainability ledger — every order shows materials, factory, carbon footprint, and end-of-life options
  • Sample kit — $99 returns the cost on your first order over 50 units · ships in 3 business days
